White collars day off

As you might already know, I work for an IT company. Five days a week, like millions of people all over the beautiful planet of Earth,  I wake up early in the morning to get to the office and do my job. The job that in most cases I tend to like than to detest. Sometimes the routine of the everyday similar tasks can put me in a bad mood and frustrate. So after a hard and long week I try to spend more time on the things I love, that help me to revive my spirits and refresh my strength. I'll tell you today what I'm usually involved in on my days-off:) So here is the short list:

  • my writing ( I am a writer, you know :)

I write a lot of silly things apart from posts in my English and Russian blogs. Mainly these are the short stories based on my childhood memories.

  • working at my blog

This basically involves not only paying attention to the content, lay-outing, photo shooting and styling new looks, but also embraces surfing through the web in search of inspiration, a very dull SEO part and answering emails.)

  • reading

This is the most constant element of my weekends since I learned how to read. I use Amazon Kindle 3, which was my first big purchase after moving from my parents and starting the adult life. It is very convenient and pretty old, but I love it with all my heart. My favourite authors are Ray Bradbury, Ernest Hemingway and Alexander Grin.

and spending time with my little kitten Yoshi :)
I took him from the street almost a week ago. He was struggling from starvation and had a broken back paw. Now he is recovering from all the bad memories and learning how to behave inside the house :) In Japanese "yoshi" means kind :)

These are just a few basic things I do when I'm out of office. Of course I love watching movies, taking long walks, meeting my friends and swimming in the lovely swimming pool by the place I live. And as I live on,  I discover even more captivating things to spend my leisure time. :)

60s love

When I lived in the South of the country and on-line shopping was far from being a common thing, there were not much places for a girl to go shopping to. I read thousands of fashion magazines. I craved almost everything I saw on their pages. But instead of that endless number of pretty brands we had the local market with ugly and tasteless clothes from Turkey (no offence to this country). I started sawing things at the tailor, trying to copy the silhouettes I saw in the fashion editorials. And then they opened the Sinequanone shop.  It was love at first sight. I still do love this brand even though it is no longer available for shopping in my country. My biggest and probably best purchase there was this bright blue coat in the style of 60s. Even though it has been for almost 8 years in my wardrobe, it is still my favourite one.

God only knows what I've been thinking about while this pic was taken. But it is so funny :) Seems like I am singing :-D

Soft coat, warm coat, little ball of fur...:)

I always have been a little prejudiced against faux fur coats. I had one pretty ugly coat in my childhood, so I guess this image of childish garment formed my negative opinion about this piece of clothing. Recently, I got really interested in the style of 70s. I looked through numerous photo shoots and articles about that period in fashion history. And changed my point of you about the faux fur coats. Now I even have one in my wardrobe:

Sale el sol

The sun is my biggest energizer ever. Nothing brings me to life more like this golden star. That's why probably when I moved to the northern part of the country, where gloomy days are more usual than the bright ones, I started missing its joyful rays. I've never been into gold, preferring silver jewelry. And then I encountered with MonicaVinader rings. I remember where I first saw them and that feeling of craving them. It was then that I realized that I might have found my small substitute for the rays of the sun I was missing. The golden jewelry was so tempting. Now I have my own small collection :) The latest arrival is my New Year present  - a friendship bracelet  - with the engraving from the song Sale el sol and my initials. I hope I'll have more sunny days this year.
