Schoolin' Life

February is a traditional month in our country when graduates (from both school and university) get together. The former classmates and students meet to remember the good old days and have a look at their alma mater. I live too far from the city where I was educated, so I don't get a chance to attend such meetings. Still I am touched the general atmosphere of nostalgia and sweet sadness. This time inspiration for the look came from this field, so I made a revision in my wardrobe and gave a second chance to my ten-something old pleated tartan skirt, creating a kind of preppy look :)

How long will I love you?

Sometimes you get stuck on something in your life. This can be anything: a feeling, a person, a song. And there is no remedy for this addiction. You feel bound tight to the object of your obsession, like an unconstrained slave. I feel the same about some things in my wardrobe. As a child I was mad about little blue and white boots and even though they were too tight for me and I grew out their size, I was still trying walking in them pretending they are fitting perfectly on my feet. Just because I couldn't imagine anything as stylish and beautiful as these boots. The same is about modern brands. I used to buy a lot at Sinequanone shop. I still love wearing the grey/black and red skirt even though it is about 5 years old now. It matches well the thick tights and sweater as well as espadrilles and a light top.

60s love

When I lived in the South of the country and on-line shopping was far from being a common thing, there were not much places for a girl to go shopping to. I read thousands of fashion magazines. I craved almost everything I saw on their pages. But instead of that endless number of pretty brands we had the local market with ugly and tasteless clothes from Turkey (no offence to this country). I started sawing things at the tailor, trying to copy the silhouettes I saw in the fashion editorials. And then they opened the Sinequanone shop.  It was love at first sight. I still do love this brand even though it is no longer available for shopping in my country. My biggest and probably best purchase there was this bright blue coat in the style of 60s. Even though it has been for almost 8 years in my wardrobe, it is still my favourite one.

God only knows what I've been thinking about while this pic was taken. But it is so funny :) Seems like I am singing :-D

Soft coat, warm coat, little ball of fur...:)

I always have been a little prejudiced against faux fur coats. I had one pretty ugly coat in my childhood, so I guess this image of childish garment formed my negative opinion about this piece of clothing. Recently, I got really interested in the style of 70s. I looked through numerous photo shoots and articles about that period in fashion history. And changed my point of you about the faux fur coats. Now I even have one in my wardrobe:

Mango Street

I've been collecting this outfit like a thirsty person is gathering drops of water in the desert. :) The moment I saw the coat in the Vienna Mango shop, I knew exactly, how I wanted to wear it. Then i found the oxblood gloves in that very shop as well. Then I encountered the Dune shoes and a hat. The leggings by Mango have been in my wardrobe since September ;) This is my favourite color match at the moment.  Plus I feel very lady-like in it. :)

Frozen Flowers

Oh, I love December. This month is full of magic and sweet memories. There is another thing that makes it even more special. For two last years this was the time for The Hobbit movie premiere. So this Saturday I woke up very early with the wonderful feeling of something good that is about to happen. This was the day I went to see the second part of the Hobbit :)
For this special occasion I picked up my new washed denim shirt and new jeans with the flower print (thanks God for the sales:)) by Mango and winter biker boots by Ukrainian shoe design atelier Kachorovska. The colors of the ensemble were pastel and a little like frozen, just like the landscape outside :)

Pastels and Color

The days are so gray and short that sometimes there is no energy for making through them. And every glimpse of sunshine is a real blessing. You run out of the house just to feel it's merely sensible toch on your cheeks. Today I picked up pastel ensemble with a colorful bright checked shirt as a symbol of those rare sunny days in the calm colorless stream of cloudy weeks.

Runaway Lover

I believe that every look has a story. This morning I woke up and glanced outside the window. I couldn't see a thing. The whole world was covered with fog. Mysterious and silent stood my city. The dusty cloth created the romantic atmosphere with bittersweet aftertaste. As if the party is over, or the love is gone and no one knows what lies ahead. This is when I made up a story. Early misty morning, a girl is walking down the empty street, all wrapped-up in clouds of fog. She's wearing high heels, stockings and a slip dress. She put on some coat on her shoulders to keep herself warm. All in her look shows that she had a long night and left in a hurry: messy hair, strange selection of clothes and touch of red lipstick on her full lips. A runaway lover.

Smile Like You Mean It

Today outside was pretty cold and gray. I've decided to take a short walk to refresh my mind and take a break from different things I had to do about the house. They say there is a good method for fighting against the gloomy days. Of course, they are talking about wearing bright colours. But today I wasn't in the mood for  battling. That's why the palette for the look is black, dark grey and white.
