Farewell summer

Have you lost something?  - слышу я за спиной робкий голос.  Ноги по щиколотки погружены в теплое, как парное молоко, море. Вокруг совсем темно, только отблески огней отеля на берегу. Какое-то время я разглядывала звезды на черном куполе над головой, а потом зачаровано стала бродить по воде, всматриваясь в блики света на ряби от моих шагов. Я и не заметила, как кто-то оказался поблизости.
No. Thanks. - Тороплюсь успокоить заботливого британского туриста. И задумываюсь. Конечно, я ему соврала.
Вот уже неделю я живу на маленьком греческом острове. Мой день начинается с прогулки по длинному песчаному побережью к самой горе. Воздух еще прохладный, а море дышит теплом, не успев остыть за ночь. С гор сползают полотна тумана и плывут к зеркальной поверхности воды.

Have you lost something? - I hear someone asking behind me. I' m standing, feet in the warm, like fresh milk, sea. It's dark around, there are only a few lights at the hotel on the shore. I've been staring at the stars on the dark sky above my head. Then I started wandering in the water dazed by the shimmering wimple gleam. I didn't notice the approaching stranger.
No, thanks. - I hurry to ensure the caring British tourist that everything is ok. Then I start thinking over his question. It turns out that I told him a lie.
I live on a small Greek island almost a week. My day begins with the stroll along the sea shore up to the mountain. The air is chilly, the sea breathes with the warmth of its salty water, despite the cold nights. Cloths of fog crawl slowly towards the water from the peak.

В это время можно легко встретить маленького, только появившегося на свет черепашонка, который с помощью заботливых волонтеров упорно пробирается по песчаным просторам к морю.

It's so easy to meet a newborn turtle at this time of the day. With the help of the volunteers he is persistently making its way through the sandy land to the sea.

Волшебство утра сменяется магией дня. Когда можно лениво валяться в тени кипарисов, поедать сладкие апельсины из рощи по соседству с домом, плавать в кристально прозрачной воде, то зеленой, как бутылка оливкового масла, то пронзительно лазурной, как полуденное небо над головой.

The magic of the morning is followed by the midday charm. You can rest in the cypress shadows, eat sweet oranges found in the neighbouring orange grove, swim in the crystal clear water, that is sometimes dark green like the bottle of olive oil, or azure like the skies above your head.

А можно взять лодку с навязчиво общительным и до неприличия ленивым греком и отправиться в знаменитую бухту с белым, похожим на рис песком, высокими известняковыми скалами-стенами и аквамариновым волнами.

Or you can rent a boat with an extremely talkative and lazy Greek captain and visit a famous bay with the white, like rise, sand, high chalky rocks and aquamarine waves.

А после сытного обеда вздремнуть часок-другой и потом читать, читать, читать. Жадно глотать строки всего, что было отправлено в долгий ящик из-за бесконечных забот, заданий, курсов, дел.
Простая неспешная жизнь с ее маленькими радостями. Вот, что я потеряла. Но разве могла я об этом сказать британцу тем вечером?
В этот приезд я не стремилась исследовать памятники архитектуры и музеи Греции. Более того, афинский Акрополь вызвал во мне легкое раздражение из-за толп туристов. Не знаю, живут ли еще здесь легенды и древние боги. Но чудеса определенно случаются на этой земле, щедро залитой солнечным светом и пропитанной морской солью.
Они в неожиданных радостных встречах с сухопутными черепашками в садах Афин, в морских звездах, что выносят пенящиеся волны к твоим ногам, в прохладном ветерке, шуршащим листьями оливковой рощи в жаркий полдень, в выныривающей возле тебя морской редкой черепахе с хитрым прищуром глаз.

After square meal it's so nice to have a nap for a couple of hours and then read and read, and read again. Devour greedily the lines of the books inaccessible because of the endless problems, courses, tasks and affairs.
Simple life with little happy moments. That's what I've lost. But could I tell this the Brit that evening?
I wasn't longing for the sightseeing or visiting Greek museums and historical places this time. What is more, I was a little annoyed by the overcrowded Acropolis. I'm not sure whether the legends and ancient gods are still living here. But the wonders are definitely happening in this land bathing in the sunlight and saturated with salty water.
They are in the encounters with the turtle on the path in the gardens in Athens,  in a starfish carried right up to your feet by the waves, in the chilly wind playing with the leaves in the olive wood on a hot midday.

Здесь солнечные лучи физически ощутимы и вечером опускаются легкой накидкой на горы и сады. Они скользят по твоей коже, оставляя на ней золотистый загар, веснушки на щеках, высветляют пряди волнистых волос, проникая куда глубже, - в самое сердце. Солнце наполняет его своим мягким светом, оставляя надежду, что теперь даже в самый лютый житейский мороз оно будет согрето теплом неспешного тихого летнего дня.

The rays of sun here can be physically felt. They cover the mountains and gardens in the evening, gliding over my skin giving it a golden tone, leaving freckles on my cheeks, bleaching my wavy hair, getting deeper inside of me to the very heart of mine. The sun fills it with the soft light, giving me hope that on the coldest moments in life it will beat bravely warmed by the magic of the calm lazy summer day.

Eye Candy

Italy is a real pleasure for your eyes. Everything you see there is beautiful and attractive. No matter where you turn your head, you might find some historical place or piece of art. I fell in love with this country from the moment I saw it from the airplane window. We were flying above the lake Como and beautiful mountains lighted with golden rays of the setting sun. Italy forces you to look good and be stylish. As long as people around you look like true fashionistas you cannot help but dress up :)

Anything could happen

My Spanish trip is over. The memories about those days spent on the Costa Dorada will warm me during the rainy and snowy season. What I'd like to tell you about in this post is my swimming suit. To be honest, I have two swimming suits. The first one, ironically,  I've purchased just before the trip to Barcelona. The funny part is that it's by Mango =). It has a black top and black pants with white stars. Very comfortable and easy to swim and sunbathe in.

My second swimming suit was more colorful. I picked it because of the shape of the top. It's nice to wear on when there are some waves on the sea. It fits me as my second skin. =)

Copenhagen Fashion Spots with Irene

Today I had a lovely evening, as I have  met a very lovely girl Irene. Irene is the fashion blogger from Madrid who is studying communication in Copenhagen.

The weather in the capital of Denmark is very changeable. At the beginning of the evening it was raining, but all of a sudden the sun came out and it was just the right time for taking a walk. Irene told me about her life in the city and the style of Danish girls and boys.
Blokes in Denmark are very stylish. They follow the latest trends and really care of their look. Girls are keen on fancy outfit too. They prefer dark colors and clean lines in clothes, adding some bright details with colorful backpacks and trainers ( that are extremely popular as the main transport in Copenhagen is a bike). What is more they often wear headbands to protect their ears from cold wind while riding a bicycle and keeping hair in order. Irene joked that Danish girls have the "waterproof ability" having their hair always looking gorgeous and in order even if it's raining outside. :)
After having a cup of coffee in a cozy coffee shop Irene showed me the favorite places to shop. Irene believes that the style of every person is greatly influenced by the kind of music they listen to. She is a big fan of British music. Especially the old bands. This affected her choice of clothes a lot. Her favorite brands are Urban Outfitters, Weekday, Vagabond, that are very popular among Danish youth.

But probably the most desirable destination for each true fashionista is the Latin Quarter, where the best second hand and vintage stores are situated:

The atmosphere is magical in the streets here. Owing to the creative street art on the buildings everywhere here and the clothes that have unique history you feel as if you are in some other kind of world :)

Unfortunately, most of the shops were already closed when we got there, but I am definitely coming back there on Friday, which is actually the best day to go shopping in Copenhagen together with Saturday. On  Sunday everything is closed.

This was one of the best evenings in Copenhagen. I am so glad I met with  Irene as she is one of the nicest and kindest  people I've ever known and hoping to see her once again:)
